The Unlived Life

The purpose of training is to make higher quality experiences possible:

In three ways:

  • more time (health gives you this)

  • time better spent (with a capable body, you have more choices)

  • time better enjoyed (if you’ve learned to be present to your body, the moments will be richer)

In other words, putting yourself through physical training of some sort is worthwhile because it can expand the horizon of your human experience.

To quote Naval Ravikant:

If you don't have your physical health, you have nothing. When you're sick, your desires run away. Without the ability to get up and function, you can't turn into the desiring machine that you are.

A sick person wants one thing: to be healthy.
A health person whose body is ready and willing to adventure is free to have grand and numerous desires.

Is having desires wrong? No. But being hung up on them is a problem.

And the best way to free yourself from hang-ups is to consummate your desires, until you’re more interested in consummating than desiring. In other words, to be more interested in the process of creating your reality than in wishing for another one.

So, what desires would you have, if you could have any?
And who would you need to become to realise these desires?
