Bathing in nature
This weekend I went for a walk with eight incredible humans at Sherbrooke Falls.
We walked closely and drifted apart, always accompanied by the forest.
There was a remarkable feeling of being both alone and together.
Sharing moments of stillness, dissolving into the sounds of nature…
Birds chirping, the wind in moving the canopy and water running over rocks.
Listening to the urge to slow down and pause, or to walk ahead and explore.
Studying life and being studied by life - moss, the fungi, the birds, even leaches.
Some felt most at home in the forest in warm winter clothes and boots.
Some didn’t mind the cold and set out to feel the mud between their toes.
Sensing and breathing into our surroundings and ourselves, in different ways.
No need to keep up with or wait for others, and nowhere else to be.
